Berries are one of the healthiest superfoods around.
What makes berries so special is their high level of phytochemicals that help protect cells from damage.
Here are some of the powerful benefits that berries provide:
Berries Reduce the Risk of Mental Decline – Researchers reported in the Annals of Neurology that compounds called anthocyanidins (a type of flavonoid contained in berries) support brain health as we age.
According to study author Elizabeth Devore, ScD, an associate epidemiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a professor at Harvard medical School in Boston, “These compounds, found almost exclusively in berries, are known to cross the blood-brain barrier and locate in learning and memory centers in the brain.”
Berries Help Manage Diabetes – Even though berries are sweet, diabetics can include them in their diet. Why? Because berries contain fiber. Researchers tell us that it is better to eat fruit whole rather than drink juice, because the juice is much higher in sugar and doesn’t contain fiber. Drinking juice will raise your blood sugar while consuming fiber-rich berries will help stabilize your blood sugar.
Berries Boost Heart Health – A diet rich in whole fruits and vegetables including berries can reduce the risk of heart attack and heart disease according to a study published in PLoS Medicine.
In that study, researchers found that people who loaded up on fruits and vegetables reduced their risk of heart disease. According to Registered Dietitian Nancy Copperman, a berry-rich diet may be particularly helpful for people who have a family history of heart disease risk. The chemical compounds in berries neutralize the systemic swelling that may accompany high blood pressure and heart disease, helping make your body healthier overall.
ViaViente is packed with berries – including blueberries, cranberries, elderberries and bilberries. Get your daily dose of berry health support with ViaViente!

For over 50 years, cardiovascular disease (heart attack and stroke) has been one of the most researched, talked about, marketed to and feared ailments of the human body. There is so much written about the different causes, concerns and cures that it fills volumes of books. But most of those studies were just plain wrong because it was “cherry-picked” data. The new thought about the disease goes back to the original thought that many “old time” doctors have suspected all along.
The last 20+ years, Cholesterol has been described as the “smoking gun” and billions of dollars were spent “educating” and marketing to us that if we want to live healthier, we had to change our diet and purchase a new line of processed foods and take new drugs called Statins. Cholesterol has been responsible for demonizing entire categories of foods (saturated fats) and blamed for just about every case of heart disease in the last 20 years.
After years of different drugs, fab diets, life style changes and preventative measures that have been claimed to be the answer to keep us from suffering this deadly disease, cardiovascular disease and weight gain has increased despite the direction of the past 20 years. Hundreds of Americans die each day due to a heart attack. Obesity rates in the United States remained stable at around 14 or 15% from 1900 to 1980. Since then, the obesity rates have skyrocketed. Today, nearly 60% of the population is overweight or obese. So, is the low-fat diet really just one big fat lie?
Research is finally going back to basics and looking at the cause of many or most causes of all diseases, INFLAMMATION. It is the inflammation to the arterial wall that is causing the blockage, not the cholesterol.
If you have increased levels of cholesterol, it is at least in part because of increased inflammation in your body. The cholesterol is there to do a job: help your body heal and repair. If you have a bunch of damaged cells that need to be replaced, your liver is notified to make more cholesterol and release it into your bloodstream. This is a deliberate process that takes place in order for your body to produce healthy new cells. If your cholesterol levels remain elevated, you are in a chronic inflammation state.
Dr. Dwight Lundell, a board certified Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon with 25 years experience in heart surgery, is speaking out loudly regarding the truth about heart disease. Click here to view article.
So how do we fight Inflammation?
We need to increase the anti-oxidants in our body. Toxins from our environment are continually invading the body. Unfortunately, the body is also producing toxins as a result of both digestion and oxidation. Foods are a common source of toxins but so is the very air we breathe. Your body must digest, or oxidize, in order to survive. Oxidation leads to the production of free radicals, which wreak havoc on your body. Essentially, free radicals are toxins in your body that cause severe cellular damage; free radicals are known to cause inflammation.
So referring back to the original thought that many “old time” doctors have suspected all along, it is diet that determines whether we have a healthy life or we remain chronically ill. Inflammation is a vital part of the healing process but chronic inflammation can be deadly. Getting the correct amount of Chelated minerals, vitamins, amino acid, proteins and fats to fight free-radicals that attack healthy cells from our daily life and nourish our cells is the basis to good health.

Dr. Steven Pratt, the author of SuperHealth, says whole foods can help protect against eye disorders such as macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma.
Green leafy vegetables offer protection because of their high Lutein content. Also, antioxidant-rich fruits have been shown to be vitally important to your eyesight.
Because berries, grapes and other antioxidant-rich fruits are outstanding for protecting cardiovascular health, they are SUPERSTARS for protecting your sight. These fruits help decrease both swelling and blood pressure, and high blood pressure is a risk factor for macular degeneration.
Fruits like blueberries contain anthocyanins – the dark purple pigmented nutrients that fight pain and swelling, and improve blood flow. Anthocyanin rich berries also help prevent blockages to the arteries that feed oxygen to the retina, says Christine Gerbstadt, M.D., spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and author of Doctor’s Detox Diet: The Ultimate Weight Loss Prescription.

In a recent article about joint pain, Dr. Mark Pedersen, Lead ViaViente Formulator, explained that reducing inflammation in the body will help reduce Joint Pain caused by Osteoarthritis.
Dr. Mark Pedersen states:
“Let’s take a closer look at inflammation and how ViaViente helps reduce pain and swelling in the body.
Inflammation is the body’s response to infection, injury and environmental toxins such as pollution and an unhealthy diet. Inflammation is essential to the healing process. The bad news is that chronic inflammation can cause pain and serious health problems.
If you want to be healthy and reduce your aches and pains, eliminate inflammation. Dr. William Welches, a pain specialist at the Cleveland Clinic states, “An anti-inflammatory diet is the single most important thing I offer patients for pain control.”
To reduce inflammation in your body, consume at least 8 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Why does this work? Because the antioxidants in fruits and vegetables are natural anti-inflammatories.
ViaViente helps reduce swelling, and aches and pains in your body because of the powerful antioxidants in Via’s 11 Whole Fruits. These antioxidants are all natural with NO SIDE EFFECTS. One ounce (or 30ml) gives you the antioxidants present in 5 servings of fruits and vegetables. Two ounces daily gets you 10 servings. If you want to decrease your body’s aches and pains, 2 – 3 ounces of Via daily is the first step to being pain free!”

Did you know that virtually all degenerative diseases, including cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney and gall stones, and tooth decay are associated with excess acidity in the body?
Acidosis is a condition in which there is excessive acid in the body fluids.
Osteoporosis is an example of an acidosis problem. As the body becomes more acidic, to protect against the event of heart attack, stroke, illness, or even cancer, the body attempts to remain healthy. So, it steals calcium from the bones, teeth, and tissue. When you are over-acid, it causes your bones to get fragile. As bone mass becomes depleted, this is what we call osteoporosis.
Another example of acidosis is high cholesterol. The root cause of high cholesterol is primarily an over acidic diet.
The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is not new. In 1933, a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a ground-breaking book, A New Health Era, in which he maintains that all disease is caused by autotoxication (or “self-poisoning”) due to acidosis in the body.
Most people who suffer from unbalanced pH are too acidic. This condition forces the body to borrow minerals including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium, from vital organs and bones to neutralize the acid and safely remove it from the body. Because of this strain, the body can suffer severe and prolonged damage due to high acidity. This condition may go undetected for years.
The letters pH stand for “power of hydrogen”. Hydrogen supplies building blocks of all organisms whether plant, animal or human.
An acid is a substance that releases hydrogen into a solution. An alkaline substance is one that removes hydrogen from a solution. Most body functions occur at only certain levels of acidity or alkalinity, as well as, many enzymes and chemical reactions work best at a specific pH.
The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. The blood, lymph and cerebral spinal fluid in the human body are designed to be slightly alkaline at 7.4. Proper pH levels promote optimum health, discourage disease and help the body heal faster.
Mild acidosis can cause such problems as:
- Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
- Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
- Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
- Immune deficiency.
- Acceleration of free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations.
- Premature aging.
- Osteoporosis; weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
- Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
- Low energy and chronic fatigue.
Though high acidity is generally caused by a diet rich in animal foods and low in vegetables, there are many things that make our bodies acidic that we consume every day:
- Meat and Animal Products
- Coffee, Tea, Sodas
- Refined Sugar. Artificial Chemical Sweeteners like NutraSweet, Equal and Aspartame
- White Flour, Refined Grains
- Dairy Products
- Fast Foods and Processed Foods
- Our environment
You do need some acidic food as well as alkaline food – you have to have balance in the body. The problem is that most people consume far more acidic foods than alkaline foods. Alkaline foods are going to be whole food – primarily vegetables and fruits in the whole form.
ViaVienté is an all-natural living whole food, not a dietary supplement. The whole fruit – skins, seeds and pulp – are used in ViaViente. The combination of the fruits that we have in ViaViente provides an alkaline ash in your body with every dose to help balance your pH level. One ounce of ViaVienté is equivalent to 5 servings of fruits/vegetables.
A new study from Hunan China reports that the natural polyphenol Resveratrol not only displays a wide spectrum of health benefits, but also supports weight loss at the cellular level.
Mitochondria in our cells are the source of our energy.
When our energy is increased, so is our metabolism, and weight loss is the result.
Resveratrol has also been shown to support good cardiovascular health, reducing the risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
This new study from China is just another confirmation that ViaViente’s Whole Fruit Puree – which includes a healthy dose of Resveratrol – benefits your health in a multitude of ways – including a healthy weight.
The results of this study were reported in the Journal of Biological Chemistry in the January 7, 2011 issue.

Many times babies cry as if they are hungry but they are actually thirsty. So mothers give them juices, many of which are sold as 100% juice but can actually contain preservatives, sugar, high fructose corn syrup or other additives.
Juice is sweet, which is why babies like it so much. Large amounts of juice have been known to lead to malnutrition since it does not provide essential nutrients, especially if provided before a solid meal. It can also cause the body to absorb less carbohydrates.
A healthier alternative to giving babies juice is to give them water. If you stick with water from the beginning, your baby won’t know what he or she is missing! If your baby doesn’t like water, for a healthier alternative add a little ViaViente to the water. It will flavor the water while providing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. And because ViaViente is a whole food, it also provides the important fiber that babies need.
ViaViente is all natural and has no additives or preservatives.
