Proper pH – Key to Your Health

Did you know that virtually all degenerative diseases, including cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney and gall stones, and tooth decay are associated with excess acidity in the body?

Acidosis is a condition in which there is excessive acid in the body fluids.

Osteoporosis is an example of an acidosis problem. As the body becomes more acidic, to protect against the event of  heart attack, stroke, illness, or even cancer, the body attempts to remain healthy. So, it steals calcium from the bones, teeth, and tissue. When you are over-acid, it causes your bones to get fragile. As bone mass becomes depleted, this is what we call osteoporosis.

Another example of acidosis is high cholesterol.  The root cause of high cholesterol is primarily an over acidic diet.

The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is not new. In 1933, a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a ground-breaking book, A New Health Era, in which he maintains that all disease is caused by autotoxication (or “self-poisoning”) due to acidosis in the body.

Most people who suffer from unbalanced pH are too acidic. This condition forces the body to borrow minerals including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium, from vital organs and bones to neutralize the acid and safely remove it from the body. Because of this strain, the body can suffer severe and prolonged damage due to high acidity. This condition may go undetected for years.

The letters pH stand for “power of hydrogen”. Hydrogen supplies building blocks of all organisms whether plant, animal or human.

An acid is a substance that releases hydrogen into a solution. An alkaline substance is one that removes hydrogen from a solution.  Most body functions occur at only certain levels of acidity or alkalinity, as well as, many enzymes and chemical reactions work best at a specific pH.

  • Low energy and chronic fatigue.

Though high acidity is generally caused by a diet rich in animal foods and low in vegetables, there are many things that make our bodies acidic that we consume every day:

  • Medications
  • Meat and Animal Products
  • Coffee, Tea, Sodas
  • Refined Sugar. Artificial Chemical Sweeteners like NutraSweet, Equal and Aspartame
  • White Flour, Refined Grains
  • Dairy Products
  • Fast Foods and Processed Foods

Giving Babies Juice
