Whole Food Purees vs. Fruit Juices

Whole food puree:  To be considered a whole food puree, a product must include the “whole fruit”.  That means including the skin and pulp, and sometimes the seeds. By incorporating the whole fruit, all the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, and antioxidants that reside in the fruit’s skin, pulp and seeds are included providing a super-concentrated puree.  A recommended serving is 1 to 2 ounces once or twice a day.

Fruit juices:  Many people believe that all fruit juices are healthy and provide the same benefits as fresh fruit. They believe they are getting full nutrition in a glass of juice. Proper pH – Key to Your Health

Did you know that virtually all degenerative diseases, including cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney and gall stones, and tooth decay are associated with excess acidity in the body?

Acidosis is a condition in which there is excessive acid in the body fluids.

Osteoporosis is an example of an acidosis problem. As the body becomes more acidic, to protect against the event of  heart attack, stroke, illness, or even cancer, the body attempts to remain healthy. So, it steals calcium from the bones, teeth, and tissue. When you are over-acid, it causes your bones to get fragile. As bone mass becomes depleted, this is what we call osteoporosis.

Another example of acidosis is high cholesterol.  The root cause of high cholesterol is primarily an over acidic diet.

The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is not new. In 1933, a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a ground-breaking book, A New Health Era, in which he maintains that all disease is caused by autotoxication (or “self-poisoning”) due to acidosis in the body.

Most people who suffer from unbalanced pH are too acidic. This condition forces the body to borrow minerals including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium, from vital organs and bones to neutralize the acid and safely remove it from the body. Though high acidity is generally caused by a diet rich in animal foods and low in vegetables, there are many things that make our bodies acidic that we consume every day:

According to researchers from Tel Aviv University’s School of Health and Rostock University in Germany, a diet rich in Antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids can help protect you from skin cancer.
