Giving Babies Juice

Many times babies cry as if they are hungry but they are actually thirsty.  So mothers give them juices, many of which are sold as 100% juice but can actually contain preservatives, sugar, high fructose corn syrup or other additives.

Juice is sweet, which is why babies like it so much. Large amounts of juice have been known to lead to malnutrition since it does not provide essential nutrients, especially if provided before a solid meal. It can also cause the body to absorb less carbohydrates.

A healthier alternative to giving babies juice is to give them water. If you stick with water from the beginning, your baby won’t know what he or she is missing! If your baby doesn’t like water, for a healthier alternative add a little ViaViente to the water. It will flavor the water while providing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.  And because ViaViente is a whole food, it also provides the important fiber that babies need.

ViaViente is all natural and has no additives or preservatives.
